The finale of every Chanel Haute Couture show is always a wedding dress. A grand show-stopping moment that wraps up the collection with a sophisticated exclamation mark.
At last night's Met Gala, honoring the fashion brilliance of Karl Lagerfeld, Jill Kargman took that tradition to heart, walking the carpet in the wedding dress she wore down the aisle some moons ago to wed husband Harry Kargman.
With her close family ties to the brand - her father Arie L. Kopelman was the former president of Chanel - Karl custom made the dress as a gift for the stylish bride.
Twenty-one years later, with a little re-styling, it made for the perfect homage to an old friend.
Musing upon the passing of time, the society staple shared with Town & Country, "White may be all purity and new beginnings, but you don’t have to be young to relish new chapters! My husband Harry zipped it up and I instantly felt as good as I did in 2002. Actually, I felt even better. That's because being young meant uncertainty about the future. With age came our Karglings, adventure, and experience. Even if I could jump in a DeLorean Time Machine with Doc Brown at the wheel, I wouldn’t go back two decades. But for one night, I will."
