Lilly Pulitzer celebrated their 50th anniversary as a fashion staple for the Hamptons and Nantucket crew alike at Parsons last night. Despite the rain, guests lined up at the front door and waited, as by 8PM the event was already 150 people past capacity… talk about a good turn out! I don’t own any Lily Pulitzer, personally, but I definitely got my share of it last night.
More story and photos below:
The Pulitzer team went all out, staging around 50 mannequins in Lily Pulitzer attire old and new throughout the venue, in both a private viewing room and staggered throughout the mingling area. They spared no expense decorating a baby grand piano in full pink-white-green floral paint and even had a paisley Jeep Wrangler parked outside the building. Overall, it was everything Lily!
Everyone was smiling, chatting, and enjoying the fashions, including guests Debbie Bancroft, Carol Mack, designer Jeffrey Chow, David Chines, Megan Ruddy, John Mason, Avenue’s Victoria Chin, Pamela Fiori, Melissa Berklehammer, Somers Farkas, Grace Meigher, and Markian and Alexander Sawczuk.
I think the best part of the evening was the gift bag. Here is a round up of what Lily Pulitzer gifts:
1 scented candle (in pink or yellow, of course)
Tortoiseshell sunglasses with gold “bling” detail
A pamphlet on Parson’s Design School
A blue cotton tank top (with bra built in…for men AND women, apparently)
A can of Moravian tangerine cookies
Lily Pulitzer stationary
Maybelline Great Lash mascara
And of course, a pamphlet of Lily’s past, present, and patterns
I guess I can no longer say I don’t own Lily Pulitzer…
