Nicolas Ghesquière
While speculations have been swirling for months, it was just announced that Nicolas Ghesquière would indeed succeed Marc Jacobs as the creative director of Louis Vuitton, just in time for the brand's 160th anniversary next year.
Fashionphiles, of course, have been eagerly awaiting the French designer's next move ever since he left his 15-year post at Balenciaga. Known for revolutionizing the brand, Ghesquière took on the head role in 1997 (the same year Jacobs started at Louis Vuitton) at the ripe old age of 25, and has since been named a Womenswear Designer of the Year by the CFDA and has been referred-to as "fashion's most sought-after and influential figure" by
Vogue.
