So, I just read the Dress for Less article in the Thursday Style Section of the Times and I'm glad that I am not alone in terms of my newfound obsession with cheap shopping. Yes, I do love designer, I'm especially not one to scrimp on bags and shoes, but lately my wallet has been feeling light and I seem to suffer from shortness of breath every time I receive that credit card statement in the mail. I'll let you in on a little secret, but please don't tell anyone. Sure I peruse Shopbop sale, but on a college budget it's hard.
Here's what I've been eying: I love this Vince dress: But, at that price, despite the sale, I'd much rather opt for a similar dress at Target: I really want a jumpsuit for summer, ideally, this Loeffler Randall silk, cotton number: But, I feel as though I might look like I'm wearing my pajamas in public, so I'm probably considering just to try it out first before I take the dive into the triple digits: And a perfect outfit for those warm summer evenings is this airy Alice and Olivia minidress, that I've been aching for:
A similar design, in a bolder color hangs in a Forever21 near you, which you'll probably catch me in, though I'll lie:
Plus, have you seen Payless lately? They have so many great shoes, Alice and Olivia designs for cheap and also Abaete, you know the designers of those cute mod dresses (which I picked up on Bluefly for much cheaper than retail price)
I also have similar finds of this design at vintage boutiques, which the cheapest and cutest by far is my recent obsession Loveday31.
And in terms of the designer fix, I am itching to go to this sample sale selling vintage bags and purses. The sale ends today, get shopping.
Don't be ashamed. Shopping can still be fun, despite the weakening economy.
