While It Girls the likes of Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber can realistically have one of their assistants and/or bodyguards hold on to their keys and wallets, there's just something about a power purse that pulls your outfit together like nothing else.
Though a bank-breaking Birkin is typically the go-to for an exotic statement piece, a fresh line by designer Jason Stalvey is giving the younger crowd a new gold standard - quite literally. With pieces made of genuine alligator, ostrich, and python, Stalvey's little purses are blowing up, fast becoming a street style staple that runs upwards of $25,000. But that's nothing compared to his latest creation: a 24-karat gold crocodile purse.
According to Vogue, they're produced using a high-tech "embedding" process, in which, rather than getting foiled or painted, the skin is actually embedded with gold particles. A mini top-handle is currently available for pre-order on Moda Operandi for $35,000 but a record-breaking larger version of the bag sold for $100,000 at London's luxury department store, Harrods, last week. If you're looking for a fashionable way to invest, this is it.
