[All photos by JP PULLOS for PMc]. The 47th annual New York Film Festival is underway, opening on Friday with "Wild Grass" at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. Local Parker Posey and Mathieu Amalric (a well known French actor, in Julian Schnabel's Diving Bell and the Butterfly) came for this first showing on the calendar, the story of what events ripple from an ordinary purse snatching. Continuing through the 11th of October, the roster is one of two international events that the Film Society puts on each year, the other being New Directors/New Films.
