The countdown to the First Monday in May starts now!
The 2023 Met Gala will celebrate the life and legacy of the late Karl Lagerfeld, toasting to the Costume Institute's spring exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
The dress code? "In honor of Karl."
So, we expect to see plenty of playful odes to the designer nodding to his tenure at Fendi and, of course, Chanel. Plus a few black and white suits and, we imagine, sunglasses galore. Who knows, someone might even accessorize with a fluffy white cat à la Karl's beloved Choupette. Bring your pet to the red carpet day!
And while we already know the event will be overflowing with A-listers, the Met just announced the celebrity co-chairs for this year's benefit.
Joining, as always, Anna Wintour on the hosting committee are - drum roll, please - Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Roger Federer, and Dua Lipa.
A slightly random grouping, but sure, why not?
Here's hoping Mr. Federer rolls up with a bedazzled suit jacket and white ponytail. Talk about a serve.
