The Most Scandalous Met Gala Moments

Lena Dunham is no stranger to making eye-rolling comments, but her tale of meeting Odell Beckham Jr. at the 2016 Met Gala caused more outrage than usual. In an interview with Amy Schumer, published in Lenny Letter, Dunham made some wild claims about being seated at the same table as the football star, saying, "he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards. He was like, 'That's a marshmallow. That's a child. That's a dog.' It wasn't mean—he just seemed confused." She continues, "The vibe was very much like, 'Do I want to f--k it? Is it wearing a … yep, it's wearing a tuxedo. I'm going to go back to my cell phone.'" 

After the internet called her comments racist and "reverse sexist," Dunham issued an apology to Beckham, saying she "projected [her] insecurities and made totally narcissistic assumptions about what he was thinking, then presented those assumptions as facts."
