We're pretty sure this is kind of a joke, but it also kind of isn't.
Today, New York's favorite fashionable eyewear company, Warby Parker, has announced a "groundbreaking new partnership" with fast food chain Arby's. LOL.
The tongue-in-cheek endeavor, dubbed WArby's, claims to bring together the worlds of "meats" and "seeing" by launching a food-meets-fashion (food-meats-fashion?) collection that features everything from totes and tees to a lens cloth sandwich set. There was even an Angus beef inspired pair of frames that appears to have sold out.
The true showstopper, however, is the "Onion Ring Monocle," the edible culmination of the partnership which will be available at various in-store "meat-ups" in NYC. Spoiler alert: it's just an onion ring, but isn't it fun to put those fried bad boys up to your eye?!
While, yes, it's most likely a quirky ode to April Fool's Day, the limited edition merch is really shoppable, and you can snag the onion ring "monocles" from Friday to Sunday at two locations from 11 am to 2 pm:
-WArby’s Onion Ring Monocle Truck @ Greene St. (Parked outside of Warby Parker Greene St. - 121 Greene St.)
-Arby’s 23rd St. (32 E 23rd St.)
In any case, the joke gives back. To celebrate the collab, Warby Parker will make a special donation to VisionSpring, and the Arby’s Foundation will donate to No Kid Hungry.
