Don't let Tanoshi's exterior fool you- while from the outside it doesn't resemble much more than your average NYC hole in the wall, seats at this little sushi joint are one of the hardest to get in the city. With only 10 seats (11 if a solo diner is willing to get cozy with their neighbor) and three seatings a night, reservations here are booked a month in advance. Your patience and tenacity however will be rewarded with a mind-blowing omakase meal experience, and at only $60 a person, it's one of the best deals in the city as well.
