How do you choose your painting subjects?
I am inspired by color, by travel, by influential life experiences and by my two incredible children. I paint images of photographs that I take of my various travels around the world. Each vacation I take is sacred to me – a moment of reprieve from my chaotic life – so I travel because I need a dose of adventure, fun, and relaxation. I paint photos of moments that are meaningful. I have also been through a lot, so I paint quotes that are mantras within my life, as ways for me to remember important life lessons. I also do a lot of commissioned works, in which case my clients tell me what subject is meaningful for them.
