Do you prefer collaborating over working solo?
Well, it’s totally different. The collaborating thing is great because you get to do loads and loads of different things. Then the other thing is my own. So I do both. I do a solo record, then I work with people, solo record, then I work with people. And obviously a solo record is harder because I don’t get so much promotion behind it, because there’s no such thing as a record label—for me anyway. All my record labels are with all the different people I collaborate with. Because I’ve been so busy with all the collaborating, I’ve never really sat down and looked for a record deal and did my own thing. So I’m hoping that in a way I don’t really need to. It’s silly. I already get to do everything I want to do. I mean Cinematic Orchestra is one of my favorite bands in the world!
