How did your past professional backgrounds lead you both to Ivory Row?
Pierre: Having witnessed the limits of the traditional retail industry, I felt like I was watching the end of an era. That’s not to say that brick-and-mortar retail is gone for good. Nothing beats the sensuous pleasure of seeing and feeling a product in ones own hands. However, it’s clear that e-commerce will soon become the norm rather than the exception. While US e-commerce is projected to generate over $260 billion in sales this year, that number is projected to hit $440 billion by 2017. Those are incredible numbers.
Whereas before I used to produce for mass retailers, luxury stores, and brands, I’m now able to sell to the people I care most about---our customers.
