Since opening in 2010, Timo Weiland has risen from an aspiring streetwear label to a must-see runway collection during New York Fashion Week. The label embodies the spirit of New York, in all its eccentric and artistic glory. There is a team of three designers behind the label. Alan Eckstein and Timo Weiland are the principal co-designers, and a third member, Donna Kang, is indispensable behind-the-scenes on the womenswear side. In their avant-garde office within the CFDA's Fashion Incubator Program, we spent an hour laughing and learning some unexpected lessons about the world of design from the two best friends, Alan Eckstein and Donna Kang.
