Were you and Lauren always interested in fashion? How did you get into the underwear biz?
Lauren and I met freshman year in college – we became fast friends, certainly in part because of our shared love for fashion. I think we both look at personal style as an opportunity for creative self-expression. Fashion is captivating – it has the ability to transform, to build confidence and create presence, to communicate without words. It’s something both of us gravitated towards from an early age. Underwear, on the other hand, was never a particular passion for either of us, which is actually the point. For two girls who loved fashion and thought quite a bit about what we wore on the outside, we realized we’d never given much consideration for what was underneath. Negative was born out of a desire to build something we’d actually feel proud to wear under – we want to give women a reason to care about their underwear!
