G: “…and that was 2007 and the Obama, Hilary Clinton election coverage started really early. We started live blogging the 2008 election in 2007, before live blogs were a thing. There were three live blogs of those early debates, there was ours, Wonkette’s and the NYTimes' Kit Seelye and that was it. R: “I ran Huffpo’s live blog coverage in 2008- nobody challenged me for it because nobody wanted to do it because live blogging wasn’t a thing. By the end of the election, though, everybody was live blogging.”
G: “And there was no twitter in 2007. I mean it existed but it wasn't widely used beyond the early core tech community so it’s not like there was a twitter function to follow- people got that kind of real-time reaction coverage from live blogs."
