Make Your Gathering Unique To You

A party is for your guests but you’re also letting them in on who you are as a host. So any way you can insert or reflect your favorite things in any aspect of the party, it makes it that much more special and fun. 

For instance, I’m obsessed with this mochi shop in Los Angeles. It’s actually a landmark - over 110 years old, same location, they went through the great depression they went through the war, recessions, a pandemic, and they’re still there, same family owners. They make the mochi by hand. I’m obsessed with it, so whenever it's applicable I always try to buy boxes of their mochi and use them in different ways and it gives me something to share with my guests. 

So for the holidays I would recommend expressing yourself in the details. You can make your own mulled wine or infused alcohol and bottle it yourself or print your own label. Share a piece of yourself.
