For Italian-Americans, December 24th is a particularly fishy date. Traditionally held on Christmas Eve, the Feast of The Seven Fishes is a celebratory kickoff of the big day to follow. And really, who isn't looking for an excuse to eat a ridiculous amount of seafood? (Our sincerest apologies for all those suffering from shellfish allergies - the cruelest smiting from God one can receive).
For those looking to celebrate this holy, pescatarian day, get thee to Aquagrill. Forever the standard of seafood in the city, they've over 25 varieties of daily changing oysters. 25 varieties!! Of just oysters!!! Crab claws, sea urchin, lobster, tuna, octopus, scallops, shrimp, periwinkles, salmon, sea bass. It's a sea of options at this Soho institution, and no matter what you choose, you won't be disappointed. My personal pro tip would be to stick to appetizers (and don't forget to ask them to split them if you're sharing, as you'll get bigger portions that way), and most notably, order anything and anything on the specials section of the menu.
