Pick a place that is appropriate for the group (where you take your gals for a bachelorette party might be very different from where you take your parents).
Be the first to arrive. You set the tone for the evening, so you want to give yourself the time to get comfortable at the place in order to do so. It’s particularly important if you have invited guests who’ve never met each other before.
