Altamarea restaurants
Aside from your Altamarea restaurants, what restaurants do you like in NYC?
Anything Asian. I was at Uncle Boons the other night for Thai. I love Red Farm. Red Farm is one of my go-to places, but I have to be quite honest with you, we're building so many restaurants right now that I haven't had a chance to eat out much. Definitely Blue Ribbon for sushi. I love Sripraphai in Queens for Thai food. I'll make an effort to go to those places. I'm very fortunate now because I do have a steak house. I have all these different facets of cuisine, but I do kind of get tapped out. I told my partner we can't open anything like sushi, or Asian food because I'll have nothing left to eat. It's kind of like a pastry chef who is around sweets all the time so they don't eat sweets. The last thing I'm going to do is have a bowl of pasta, because I'm surrounded by it all the time.

I'd rather eat more times and taste more things than eat a lot of one thing. I also think that's a trend- go out to one place, have a few apps, then go somewhere else, and I love eating that way. I think chefs often show what they can do in the apps section. People aren't going to risk their entrée on something strange, but they will on an appetizer because they know they have something safe coming next. A lot of restaurants are doing tons of appetizers and this is kind of how this restaurant is. We have entrées, but its about small bites.
