You're so open about past personal struggles in your book, like your eating disorder. Was that hard for you?

I had been talking about these issues with my family, friends, and even my students for years. I didn't realize how big of a deal it was until the book came out that I was so open about these struggles, and I saw how it impacted people. Then it became a little overwhelming because there were moments where I became kind of shy about it because I was opening up to the world. But it's something so many people struggle with, but don't want to talk about it. Putting myself out there can feel uncomfortable at times, but I hope I helped a small portion of people. So it's totally worth it. I'm done with my struggle, it's not something that I'm dealing with anymore. It's something that I look at in the past and it's almost as if it was a different person. And now to help other people who have written me emails, contacted me through Instagram, who I meet at events, that's been an incredible experience.
