What’s your favorite song on the new album, Soul. Swagger. Rock. Sneakers?
Josh (bass): "The funnest song would be 'Shake Stop.' Basically because it was spur of the moment. We got the track and wrote lyrics to it and it came out to be a hit. The whole creative process was great. They play it on WKYS, here in DC, and we’re trying to get it played everywhere."Animal (drums):"My favorite would be, 'Artists Prayer.' It’s because that’s what I want everyone to do-- PUSH PLAY!"Hope (keyboard):"My favorite song is 'Used.' It’s laid in a minor key and I like minor keys."Mack (keyboard):"My favorite song is 'Heavy Hitter.' It's the only song that is go-go and I’m from DC and I like gogo."Kacey (singer):"My favorite would be 'U Got It.' Basically because it was at a time where my vocals where 'virginy' and, you know, it’s so good to be able to sing something so challenging. And I think it really relates to a lot of women out there. It’s relatable."Beedy (percussion):"My favorite song would be 'Heavy Hitters.' 'Heavy Hitters' is rock; it’s gogo. We pretty much hit it with everything."
I have to say, mine is "Club 27," your bonus track. It was such a creative way to pay homage. What significance does that song hold for you guys? Are any of you 27?
Eric (guitar):"I’m not 27. I’m 23. We’re all 20 something. But the reason why we did 'Club 27' was because Amy Winehouse just died and we wanted to do a tribute to everyone who died at age 27 and influenced our sound."
