During the film, we see interviews from disco heavyweights such as The Village People to Nicky Siano of Studio 54 fame. Who was your favorite subject to interview?
The interview with the village people went completely off the rails. Maybe because of the unpredictability and what it yielded… I mean I loved them all. It was fun, chasing celebrities… it’s a real pain in the ass. Nevertheless, it had to be done. You can't have a disco film without all the big disco stars. I knew I needed to do that, and in the end, it was really quite fun meeting all these people. Thelma Houston came to Toronto when we opened the film at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). She performed for the audience and has done some press. She’s really a lovely person; I’ve remained most in touch with her, but for different reasons I enjoyed them all.
