Who or what are your fashion design inspirations?
Well, for [Mad Men] in particular, there’s so much research that goes into costume designing the show. Anywhere from, you know, Vogue to Harper’s Bazaar of the period to movies, photographs, and different catalogues. I mean, it’s so varied. It really depends on the project. But for Mad Men, that’s really where I go to. It’s very important to be period accurate. For other periods, I go to different places. Like, for Deadwood, that’s 1870s – the research process is a little bit different. There’s not as much visual information of that time period.
