For seasons 1 through 6, it’s been a different year throughout the show. I try to always stay true to the characters. From the very beginning, the season started in 1960, so I try to stay true to each character even though the time has moved on. But I think it’s about adding a little modern pieces, keeping some of the old fashion pieces, and really, that’s what we do in real life. So I think it’s about adding a little bit each season, but not totally redoing their whole costume design every season. I feel like that would not be honest to the characters. And also, you know, with new characters who come in, depending on who they are, I get to show the passage of time, too. And also with Megan Draper, she’s a character who’s very modern, as well. So I get to show the passage of time with her character, too. [Photo via]
