Man About Town: Scott Lipps On His Favorite Parties, What He Looks For In Models, And Much More!
Do you have any advice for people who want to start their own business? It seems like ONE came out of nowhere and blew up really fast.
You gotta keep fighting. You gotta be there, you gotta be present. I'm on the table still booking models, this is 20 years into it. I would love to be able to do creative things only, but I'm down there doing the nuts and bolts and the nitty gritty, still. A lot of the younger people I meet ask "should I intern? Why should I intern? Should I assist? Or can I just start as an agent?" I'm like listen, I worked as a driver for a year and a half when I first started. You've got to put the time. There's no secret formula other than you have to hustle and put the work in, and if you do it you always get one shot to do what you want to do.And what what would you say to people interested in going out as much as you?Treat people the way you want to be treated. I've met you now like 30 times, and we're always friendly and cool and it's probably why we're sitting here. No matter how successful you get, you always have to stay true to yourself. What you put out into the world is what you get back.[Photo via @scottlipps]
