Man About Town: Scott Lipps On His Favorite Parties, What He Looks For In Models, And Much More!
What do you look for in the models you choose to represent? It's interesting, It's sort of that it factor. When you watch all these shows, you watch The Voice, you watch American Idol, the judges sort of just know it when someone walks into the room. For models these days it's not just about being beautiful, you have to have the whole package, you have to have the personality, you have to know how to market yourself, you have to know how to tap into social media, you have to know how to network. You have be your own mini business woman. The girls that really get that and understand it go on to do really well. Was there a defining moment when you realized ONE could be really big? When I first got to New York, I don't think anyone was rooting for me, because it's a catty business, and they were like "oh the guy is from LA," and I'm not from LA, I'm from New York. But I had to fight my way to wherever I am, it didn't come easy. I had to work really hard, I had to fight and I'm still fighting everyday because in this kind of business it's so competitive and it's so cutthroat and I don't think a lot of agencies are great friends with each other,so you have to work really hard. It's incredibly competitive; I wish I could say it's a camaraderie and everyone is friends, but it's not really like that. There are a lot of people in it that are very very catty. Every day you have to still fight. [Pania Rose, Scott Lipps]
