Dee Poku-Spalding On The Women-Led Other Festival & The Importance Of Female Leadership

Obviously we need both, we need male allies, we need men on our side, but I think that the reason behind this drive towards female led coalitions is that nothing has been changing. There are statistics from the World Economic Forum about when we'll likely see gender parity and it's like 100 years. While we're waiting for the system change as it is, we could be waiting for another 100 years and the projections will get pushed back yet again. And so we have to find several different routes to success. One is that women need to come together and uplift one another and create networks that support us in a broader sense. So these networks are important. Meanwhile we still need to work within the system and we need male allies on our side.
