What do you think companies can learn from the diverse business leaders you bring in as speakers?
I think that businesses in general should think about their female employees and what they're looking for in terms of work fulfillment. When you survey young women in particular they want to be creative, they want their ideas to be heard. It's about providing the space and the platform for young women and men to exercise that part of themselves, to allow those ideas and that creativity to flourish. With more traditional businesses there's this idea that you have to be experienced to contribute to the company. The world has changed and a lot of the most innovative ideas are coming out of the younger generation. A lot of disruption is coming out of young people. Listen to that younger demographic within organizations and understand that they bring ideas to the table, they come from a digital age. They bring more to the table than you realize, and should be taken seriously.
