Well, it's impossible not to make an Edgar Allen Poe reference when introducing the newest hot spot to take over 55 Gansevoort, The Raven. With its lush leather sofas, Baroque-print walls textured with velvet, and lithe ladies floating around serving drinks in mod-goth mini dresses, the subterranean space seems like just the type of place Mr. Poe would go to indulge in some absinthe and opium, though top-shelf liquor will just have to do for us. While Henry Stimler's newest venture hasn't even technically opened yet, The Raven is already a fashion crowd favorite, hosting parties for VFiles, Fashion & Style, and even Rita Ora. We had a drink with the British club owner and talked Poe, poetry, and the importance of Instagram marketing.
