Adam Rapoport Resigned From Bon Appétit
On Monday, the Editor in Chief of Bon Appétit, Adam Rapoport, resigned after an old photo of him in "brownface" resurfaced and made the rounds on Twitter. The offending photo of him and his wife, circa Halloween 2004, opened the door to allegations of inequality happening behind the scenes at the publication. Editor Sohla El-Waylly, one of the few POC who appear in the cult favorite videos produced by BA, took to her Instagram stories to reveal that only white editors were compensated for their video appearances, while other staffers shared their stories of the toxic work culture and microaggressions he propagated.
