Top Editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer Also Stepped Down

A similar reckoning occurred at The Philadelphia Inquirer this weekend, when top editor Stan Wischnowski's decision to run an article titled, "Buildings Matter, Too," led to backlash and a walkout amid the Inquirer's staff. Wischnowski resigned on Saturday after co-signing an apology from the editorial team which addressed the fact that "The headline offensively riffed on the Black Lives Matter movement, and suggested an equivalence between the loss of buildings and the lives of black Americans. That is unacceptable."
