Tell us a little about what it’s like to be a young woman in the music industry.
I love being a young woman. It’s hard to be taken seriously sometimes especially when I was younger. But I think it’s fun. There are so many things that I’ve been able to do as a young female artist.
Who are some of your influences?
I love Melanie Martinez and how she does her videos like movies. I made my friends watch them in my dorm last week. I also really like Dua Lipa and Khalid.
I feel like lately I’ve been going back and listening to music from the 2000s that I grew up with. I’ll just blast Fergie or Hilary Duff. The All American Rejects were part of the reason I started to play piano with their one song “It Ends Tonight.” I would figure it out and just have to play it.
I love The Killers and Panic! At The Disco. [Brendon Urie] has one the best male voices in the music industry.
