Williamsburg Pool Parties To Return, Bring Nightmarish Lines With Them

Hipsters and Jay-Z, rejoice: the Jelly Pool Parties are coming back! And thanks to Chuck Schumer, no less. Here's hoping the Slip n' Slide, noticeably absent last summer, returns as well. Also, Beyoncé.

Despite their open invitation to mockery (yeah, the hipster thing, though we're just as sick of making fun of it as everyone else), the Pool Parties are a great treat for music fans left roasting in the city heat all summer. They're free (hence the endless lines), offer spectacular waterfront views of Manhattan (I still miss McCarren Park Pool, though) and feature a fairly impeccable roster of bands (Grizzly Bear, Girl Talk, Dirty Projectors, Deerhunter and The Black Lips all performed last summer).

Even Chuck Schumer is a fan! Said the press-shy Senator:

"I can’t wait to ride my bike this summer to the East River State Park to rock out at these concerts once again.”

Just don't call Beyonce a "bitch" like you did that flight attendant, Chuck. She'll probably still be pissed about yesterday's backhanded compliment of a Times profile, which kind of called her a giant bore.
