1. After being raided by the cops earlier this month, Chinatown hot-spot Red Egg is closing-but only for a fortnight. Partner Travis Bass says the former-restaurant will undergo renovations to accommodate a larger capacity. They just better keep the smoke machines. [Eater]
2. Prince Pierre Casiraghi was punched in the face at Double 7. The blue blood of Monaco got into a fight with former nightclub owner Adam Hock after the Prince and his entourage, including Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos and model girlfriend Jessica Hart, insulted Hock's table guests. Casiraghi was then sent flying across the bar by Hock, his face left bloodied and cut. [GofG]

3. Murray Hill bar Third and Long has temporarily changed it's name to Third and Lin.
"With all the hoopla with Jeremy Lin and the Knicks going on, not just in our bar but in the neighborhood in general, my boss and I were sitting around talking about it one night, and we figured, let’s run with this,” said manager Curtis Lanton.

4. Hotelier Andre Balazs can now add farmer to his resume. The Standard Hotel owner revealed he is raising cows, chickens, and pigs on a farm in upstate New York. Balazs is now supplying said chickens to the Standard Grill, and has plans for more farm-raised goods to follow.

5. Madonna was spotted at Mister H in the Mondrian Soho Friday night. The material girl was joined by 20 of her dancers, and spent the night singing along to Whitney Houston hits in the VIP section. [PageSix]
6. Steve Greenberg, owner of 230 Fifth, and king of rooftop bars, has died. Greenberg, a longtime fixture in nightlife and former co-owner of Palladium and the Gramercy Park Hotel, lost his battle with lymphoma this past weekend. [VillageVoice]

8. The Koch Brothers are officially suing Gans-Mex and Ginza Project over the rights to MPD.
