Hearts of Gold
Deborah Koenigsberger founded Hearts of Gold in 1994 with the goal of re-imagining the future of homeless mothers and their children. Her organization works in partnership with homeless mothers and their children to effect positive, sustainable change in their lives. Engaging with the programs, the moms and kids gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to become fully productive members of society. The language of "can't" becomes the language of "can," and the cycle of homelessness is broken.
In conjunction with Hearts of Gold, the Thrifty HoG (located at 11 West 25th Street) is a charity resale boutique that offers a selection of chic new, very gently used and vintage clothing and accessories for men, women and children.
Want to get involved? Hearts of Gold is looking for administrative office help on a regular basis, or with assisting at the thrifty HoG. Reach out to volunteer via dkassistant@heartsofgold.org. Additionally, Hearts of Gold welcomes donations to support our programs that change the lives of homeless mothers and their children. A donation of just $25 will allow children to receive a brand new winter coat and ensures that they will be able to attend school in the winter. Donate here.
Events coming up: Their annual Gala, themed “HoG Loves New York” is coming up on Thursday, November 5th at 7 PM at the NASDAQ Marketsite. To purchase tickets, contact Jessica Alberti heartsofgoldgala@heartsofgold.org.
