5 NYC Based Organizations To Get Involved With

Started in 1985, Answer the Call (also known as New York Police and Fire Widows) provides aid to families who have lost their spouse in the line of duty. Not only do they provide immediate assistance, they help the widow/widower's family for the rest of their life. On September 11th, 2001, the number of families that they were assisting tragically doubled. Last year, they aided 600 families and distributed over $2.5 million. Want to become a volunteer?
