The American Bar at The Savoy

The Savoy
If we're going to talk about bars that made cocktail history, then we must include the American Bar at The Savoy Hotel in London. One of the first places to introduce "American-style cocktails" to Europe, many of the classics that made the 1920s the golden age of cocktails originated from this iconic bar. Over the years, it has been the home of a slew of legendary bartenders, many as famous as the celebrities that frequent the place themselves. Head bartender's Henry Craddock's The Savoy Cocktail Book is widely regarded as the bartenders bible, and rumor has it that Frank Sinatra used to sneak in after hours to play the piano.
