Taken The Roosevelt Island Tramway
Sometimes the joy is in the journey. Find a reason to go to Roosevelt Island (perhaps a spooky tour of the haunted Smallpox Hospital ruins?) and take the three-minute tram ride that has you soaring above the East River, with aerial views of Manhattan and Queens. A way more scenic route than the subway offers.
