The Raines Law Room
Chelsea's lush turn-of-the-century style watering hole, The Raines Law Room, is named for an 1896 law meant to curb New Yorkers' drinking habit. It didn't work then, and it certainly doesn't work now. And while you can never go wrong ordering one of their classy drinks (courtesy of a buzzer that will call your server over), it's always more fun to DIY. This spot offers highly-coveted cocktail classes so you can show off your speakeasy skills at home. If you happen to be closer to Midtown, they've also opened a new outpost at the William.
