"NYC 1993" at the New Museum
"
NYC 1993: Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star" opened at the New Museum this month. Aptly borrowing its subtitle from the Sonic Youth album of the same name, the exhibit is meant to commemorate the global cultural landscape as well as showcase the New York art scene of that influential year. The exhibition explores the space between high and low culture, consumerism and disillusionment, and underground and mainstream.
Runs through May 26 at the
New Museum
235 Bowery
New York, NY
