A New Yorker's Guide To Being Passive Aggressive

So you've given up on subterranean commuting. Good for you! Unfortunately, this opens you up to a whole new world of assholes. An occurrence not as rare as it should be, upstreaming is the act in which a fellow cab-hailer overtakes you on the street, getting closer to the direction of the oncoming cars, so that the first lit-up taxi takes them before you. Oh hell no. Any self-respecting New Yorker must upstream them right back, and so on and so forth, until you've both walked about eight blocks north without finding a cab. It's the principle.
