Uptown: You've never stepped foot in Queens. The closest you've been to Brooklyn is when you're in the Financial District, but other than that, you haven't been to that borough since turning 25. You don't feel comfortable going into parts of the city where there are no longer numbered streets to help you navigate, although you think it's darling that Brooklyn Heights has streets named "Cranberry," "Orange," and "Pineapple" all in a row! You're planning on moving to the suburbs someday, so you're totally not opposed to antiquing in Connecticut while side eyeing real estate that you want to buy once your beau finally gets down on one knee. You've forgotten Staten Island and the Bronx existed.
Downtown: Connecticut, Westchester County, or Long Island (barring the Hamptons of course). Unless you're visiting your family or some significant life event is happening for an old friend who you've sort of kept in touch with, you try to stay away from the suburbs. They're so blah! For the record, you consider anything above midtown "The Suburbs." You also forgot Staten Island and the Bronx existed.
