'Tis the season for over-hyped music festivals boasting massive headliners and crowds of teenagers. Listen, we don't judge - perhaps you're into that. But when it comes to cool, there's only one annual rage fest that New York insiders and influencers are proud to post on Instagram - and it's going down this Saturday.
Returning for its 8th year, Full Moon is one of the city's largest independent festivals, celebrating music, art, leisure, and NYC's "restless spirit." No wonder it's so beloved by the artsy types. Produced by MATTE Projects, a creative agency known for throwing some of the best bashes around the five boroughs, it's inspired by the epic Full Moon Party that goes down in Thailand every year. Truth be told, however, our's is way chicer.
Taking over The Knockdown Center in Queens for 2018, Full Moon Fest will spotlight a diverse lineup of performers, including Metronomy, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, GE-OLOGY, and Jackmaster across three stages. Proving just what kind of party this is, the fun goes until 4 am - so get those energy drinks ready. Don't worry, though, the all-day event will have plenty of fuel on-site, with foodie vendors from Matchabar to Rad Times Pizza serving up grub.
The best part? It's all 21 and over, so little kids doing molly for the first time are nowhere to be found.
