Blues for Smoke Performance Series
When: Friday, April 5: 6–9 pm, Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7: 11 am–6 pm
Where: Whitney Museum, E. 75th and Madison Ave.
Why It's Cool: Building off of the museum’s current Blues for Smoke exhibit, this weekend-long festival will showcase emerging artists in the rap, hip-hop and soul genres, including Mykki Blanco, King Holiday, Ashok Kondabolu (Dapwell), LE1F, Himanshu Suri (Heems) and more, as well as poetry and playwrighting. Though all festival performances are free with museum admission, the regular fee will be charged to enter the Whitney on Saturday and Sunday. However, the event and museum entrance will be on a pay-what-you-wish basis on Friday night.
