While you'll probably still have to swerve through some tourists, the crowds of art scene regulars are sure to be thinner this month, making it the ideal time to hit the galleries in Chelsea and/or check out the must-see museum exhibitions, from the Whitney Biennial to the Met Costume Institute's In America: A Lexicon of Fashion to the Brooklyn Museum's Virgil Abloh retrospective. Less people equals a better experience (and a better Instagram).
