The views of Manhattan from Long Island City are killer, so visit a park to get the full effect and some fresh air at the same time. Pack a picnic basket, a book and grab a few friends for the day.
Socrates Sculpture Park
Another tribute to the art scene in LIC is Socrates Sculpture Park. The spot provides sculptors with a space for large-scale projects that allow the art and public to interact. It was an abandoned landfill until 1986, but thankfully it acts as a cultural haven today.
