1. Balthazar
1. Balthazar. [Info]
Yes it's obvious, but there is little to find wrong with wanting to start out your morning at Keith McNally's genius restaurant on Spring Street. It may make you feel like you are in Paris, and it definitely won't make you feel like you're in Kansas anymore. Breakfast meetings at Balthazar are such a treat. Pretend you are a "real" New Yorker and spread out with the Times or the WSJ. Or, perhaps even catch up on Gawker from your iPad, there's a good chance you'll spot Nick Denton (who lives across the street) sitting next to you. Order anything, don't expect the coffee to be outstanding, and don't rush to leave, esp if you get a good booth.
