Random Weekend Getaways Outside NYC

Tumblr can be a great source of information. Today's find: a guide to what to do on weekends if you are looking for an affordable getaway. Brandywine River in Chester County, PA $25 per canoe per 2-3 hours Paddle the Brandywine River and then relax at the 1732 Folke Stone B&B, a cozy joint with kick-ass original stone fireplaces.

Harry Packer Mansion Bed & Breakfast in Jim Thorpe, PA $450-$650 per couple An over-the-top murder mystery victorian bed & breakfast, where you role play a murder story all weekend, channeling your inner Agatha Christie. 2 hours from NYC.
