Heineken USA
Company: Heineken USA is the beer importing unit of Heineken that offers Heineken and Amstel Light. In 2007 Heineken USA and FEMSA Cerveza extended an agreement that made Heineken USA the sole and exclusive importer, marketer and seller of FEMSA’s beer brands in the United States, including Dos Equis, Tecate, Sol, Carta Blanca and Bohemia. Heineken USA also assumed the rights to import, market and sell Newcastle Brown Ale in the United States in 2008 and Strongbow Cider in 2012.
Began Importing: Heineken was the first beer imported into the U.S. after the repeal of Prohibition in 1933.
CEO and President: Dolf van den Brink
Employees: 66,000 internationally. 500 USA
The office: The Heineken headquarters are actually in White Plains, NY but the extra commute is worth it for the space. Not only is the warehouse fully loaded with beer, but the office also has a fully-loaded lounge and bar for staff only. To complete the creative space there are Foosball tables, neon elevators, medically-styled office chairs, and cue cards to hold up in meetings.
Future: The brand grew 4.5% in 2012, which is impressive for such an established company in a slow-growth market.
